The Town of Burlington is providing a Public Informational Forum for the Burlington Streetscape Phases 2 and 3 Project in the Town of Burlington. The Forum will be held at the Burlington Town Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 7:00 PM.  The Town Hall is located at 200 Spielman Highway, Burlington, CT 06013.

The project is currently in the final design phase.  This project consists of the construction of 6 foot wide concrete sidewalks in two sections, each funded by a separate state grant.  Phase 1 of the Project was previously constructed.  Phase 2 includes a 6-foot wide sidewalk from the intersection of Milford Street (Route 69) and Speilman Highway (Route 4) running along the north side of Spielman Highway easterly to Library Lane and then northerly along the west side of Library Lane for a total of 1,500 feet.  Construction of this phase of the project is estimated to cost $ 325,000 and is funded through a CTDOT Community Connectivity Grant Program (CCGP). Phase 3 includes the construction of a 6-foot wide sidewalk along the north side of Spielman Highway, beginning where Phase 1 ended and running easterly to Covey Road and then along the westerly side of Covey Road for a length of 750 feet.  Also included in Phase 3 is a section of sidewalk along the south side of George Washington Turnpike beginning at Thompson’s Way and running westerly to the existing walk for a length of 175 feet.  The total length of the proposed sidewalk in Phase 3 is 925 feet.   Construction of this phase of the project is estimated to cost $ 240,000 and is funded through a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant.
