Quick Contact Information:
Beth Paul - Assessor
Fax: 860-675-9312
It's our responsibility and goal to ensure that all taxable property located within Burlington is assessed according to Connecticut State Statutes so that every property owner shares their appropriate share of the total property tax burden.
Real Estate - Your assessment is based on an estimated market value. To arrive at this value, the Assessor must examine all qualified sales to see what the market is doing. The Assessor uses three nationally accepted appraisal approaches to value: cost, income, and market. Our last revaluation was October 1, 2008. These assessment changes will be used to calculate taxes due for July 1, 2009. To view your assessment online, please visit Visionappraisal.com.
Motor Vehicle - Our Motor Vehicle list is compiled from the CT DMV based on vehicles that are registered in Burlington as of October 1. The appraisal guide recommended by the State Office of Policy and Management, is used throughout the State of Connecticut by all municipalities. To obtain a motor vehicle tax credit for a disposed motor vehicle or you have moved out of state after October 1, and not replaced, you must turn a copy of the DMV plate receipt and one other form of proof. If you'd like more information on the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, please click here - CT DMV.
Personal Property - Businesses are required to file a listing of personal property located in Burlington, as of October 1. Declaration forms are mailed in September and must be filed by November 1. Other types of personal property that may be required to be filed for: unregistered motor vehicles, horses, farm and mechanic equipment.
